Michael McCraine began Lady Michael Design in 2004 and has had the opportunity to work on a variety of homes, from a 6500 square foot landmark craftsman home on prestigious Adelaide Drive in Santa Monica to the award winning Glencoe home by the architectural firm Marmol Radziner + Associates. She has been commissioned by CEO's of Hollywood studios looking to remodel their personal offices, and also by young couples needing a beautiful room for their first child. "I love walking into a space, and no matter what its condition being able to see a finished design. Whether the project requires a total remodel of the home, or just a refining of the design, I welcome the challenge!"

Michael's experience as a fashion model has helped to inspire and inform her design choices. "As a model I was traveling all the time, which really served to reinforce the relief of returning to a beautiful and comfortable home. Wearing the best clothes taught me the importance and significance of fabric. Working with some of the worlds best photographers, such as Meisel, Klein, Weber, Rolston, Lindbergh, Demarchelier and so many more, taught me about light, color and composition, and how to manipulate those elements to create dramatic effects. Going on location shoots exposed me to different cultures and the many ways in which others lived, and also allowed me access into some of the world's most beautiful homes... I studied those homes, and I learned that attention to detail is what separates something that is just good from something fantastic. Being a single mom has taught me about the necessity of functionality, and that the many needs of a family must be met!" When questioned about her design ethos she says, "I never want my clients' friends to say, 'Oh, your home looks like it was designed by Lady Michael!' No, no, no! I want them to say, "Wow! You have such a beautiful home... It looks just like you!"
